In the cottage

A pot of milk is being warmed on the fire. Maria is making cheese while keeping an eye on her daughter. The girl is carding wool, but is she doing it properly? Tomorrow Linnea can practise on the spinning-wheel. She is getting better and better, but the yarn she produces is not nearly as fine and even as the yarn that comes off the spinning-wheel, when Maria takes over.
