In class
The travelling school has come to the village. Linnea and her friends gather for a few weeks in November in the home of the parish clerk for tuition. The teacher comes to the village every spring and autumn to teach school for the children.
Linnea likes school. Arithmetic is her favourite subject. Reading aloud in class is always a bit nerve-wracking, but perhaps the teacher isn't that strict today. She does look a bit severe, though, but that might be because of the boys, who simply won't keep quiet in class. Soon there is a break, and the children are allowed out to play.
